Tarihi Uzunköprü 3 yıl araç trafiğine kapatılacak

Edirne'nin Uzunköprü ilçesindeki UNESCO Dünya Mirası geçici listesinde bulunan Uzunköprü'nün restorasyon çalışmaları kapsamında köprünün 3 yıl trafiğe kapanacağı bildirildi.
Uzunköprü Belediye Başkanı Av. Enis İşbilen, Karayolları tarafından yıl içinde ihale sürecinin yapılmasını beklediklerini, bu sürecin Uzunköprü ekonomisini ilgilendirdiğini söyledi.
Edirne Belediyesi'nde toplantıya katılan Uzunköprü Belediye Başkanı Av. Enis İşbilen gazetecilerin sorularını yanıtladı. Restorasyonla ilgili olarak konuşan İşbilen, "Köprümüz bilindiği üzere Karayollarına ait bir üst yapı, bunun restorasyonu ve tamiratı da ilgili kurum tarafından yapılacak. Bu yıl içerisinde yapılan bir ihale ancak ilgili kurum tarafından iptal edildi, bir takım hukuki gerekçelerle, çok kısa sürede tekrar ihaleye çıkmasını bekliyoruz. Zira köprümüzün hali pek iyi değil, bir yıkımla karşı karşıya kalmak istemiyoruz. Belirlemelere göre 55 tane kemerde çatlaklık söz konusu, zeminde de bir takım sıkıntıları artığını da gözlemliyoruz. 3 yıllık bir ihale süreci olacak, tabi bu süreçte ulaşıma kapatılacak. Uzunköprü ekonomisini de şu açıdan ilgilendiriyor; Meriç tarafından köy halkımız ve esnafımızın müşterisinin yeni köprüden geçmek suretiyle Uzunköprü içine gelmesi daha fazla kilometre gerektiriyor. Bu anlamda Ergene üzerinde yapılan en yakın yer Çiftlikköy'de ayaklı köprüler yapıldı. Ancak bu köprülerden ulaşımın sağlanması çok güç gözüküyor" dedi.

Historic Uzunköprü will be closed to vehicle traffic for 3 years 

Due to the Uzunköprü's restoration works within the scope of the temporary listing of UNESCO World Heritage in Edirne's Uzunköprü district, the rest of the traffic will be closed for three years.
Uzunköprü Mayor Av. Enis İşbilen said that they were expecting the tender process to be done by the Highways Deparment and that this process was related to the Uzunköprü’s economy.

"It is very important for the villagers and tradesmen to get into the Uzunköprü by crossing the new bridge and the bridge nearer to the Ergene is located at Çiftlikköy." However, it seems very difficult to get access from these bridges.
