"Ergene 2020'de temiz akacak"

Ergene nehri ile ilgili son günlerde yeniden başlayan tartışmalar, aktivistler ile siyasetçileri karşı karşıya getiriyor. Bu polemiklere son noktayı bir açıklama ile koyan Orman ve Su İşleri Bakanlığı, suyun 2020 yılında 1. sınıf hale geleceğini ifade ederek, ‘uzman’ ibaresiyle konuşan her isme kamuoyunca inanılmaması gerektiğinin altını çizdi.
Trakya’nın kanayan yarası Ergene Nehri ile ilgili tartışmalara son noktayı yine devlet koydu. Orman ve Su İşleri Bakanlığı, nehirdeki suyun 2020 yılında 1. sınıf niteliğe ulaştırılacağını açıkladı.
Nehirdeki kirlilik, Trakya’da özellikle son yıllarda siyasi malzeme haline de getirildi. Muhalif kesim ve aktivistler, yaşanan olumsuzluktan hükümetin politikasını sorumlu tutsa da, bölgedeki belediyelerin gerekli yaptırım gücünü uygulamaması nedeniyle aslında asıl sorumlular yine onlar olarak görülüyor. Ergene ile ilgili polemiklere katılmamayı tercih eden bakanlık ise, son günlerde yeniden ateşlenen tartışmalara, yetkisi nezdinde uygun bir dil ile son noktayı koydu.
Orman ve Su İşleri Bakanlığı yaptığı açıklamada şunları kaydetti: “Nüfusu 10 binin üzerindeki 12 yerleşim merkezinin atıksu arıtma tesisleri Devlet Su İşleri (DSİ) Genel Müdürlüğü tarafından, bir tanesi de Avrupa Birliği hibesi kullanılarak inşa edildi. Özel kanunla 3 bin civarındaki sanayi tesisinin 12 adet organize sanayi bölgesi kurularak kontrolü sağlandı. Bunlar için ortak ileri arıtma tesisi kurulması için projeler hazırlandı, inşaatlarına başlandı, gerçekleşme oranları toplamda yüzde 50’yi geçti. Ortak endüstriyel atıksu arıtma tesislerinin tamamı 2017 yılı içinde işletmeye alınacak. İleri arıtılmış atıksudaki muhtemel renk ve tuzluluğun aşırı pahalı yöntemlerle giderilmesi yerine Marmara Denizi Alt Akımına verilmesi için projeler tamamlandı; tünel, derin deşarj ve ana kanal inşatlarına başlandı.
16 Ekim 2017 tarihinde, Ergene havzasındaki ileri arıtmadan geçirilmiş endüstriyel atıksuların yüzde 60’ının Marmara denizinin 47,5 metreden alt akımına verilmesi hedefi ile çalışmalar hızlandırıldı. Yeraltı sularının korunması için Meriç’ten su temini fizibilite çalışmaları yapılmaya başlandı. Ergene su kalitesinin anlık olarak izlenmesi sisteminin kurulması, su kullanımının azaltılması çalışmaları da yapıldı. Uzman adıyla konuyu bilmeyen kişilerden görüş alınıp kamuoyunun yanıltılması doğru değildir.”
