Avrupa Birliği (AB) Konseyi tarafından yapılan açıklamada konseyin AB dışındaki ülkelerin vatandaşlarına vize uygulanmasının geri getirilmesine ilişkin mekanizmada değişiklikler kabul ettiği bildirildi.
İleride AB dışındaki ülkelerin vatandaşlarına yönelik vize uygulamasının geri getirilmesi daha hızlı gerçekleşecek. Vize uygulamasının geri getirilmesi AB üyesi olan her bir ülkenin ihbarı veya Avrupa Komisyonu’nun talebi üzerine olabilecek.
Kırcaali Haber Gazetesi’nde yer alan habere göre; Vizeler, istatistiklerin AB dışındaki ülkelerin vatandaşlarının güvenliği tehdit ettiği vakalarda artış gösterdiği durumlarda tekrar uygulanmaya başlanacak. AB’nin sınırları içinde yasal olarak kalma hakkına sahip olmayan yabancıların ülkelerinin onların geri kabulünü reddetmesi de bu ülkelere yeniden vize uygulamasının nedeni olabilir.
Böyle bir sorun tespit edildiğinde vize uygulaması ilk önce farklı göçmen vize kategorileri için 9 ay süreliğine geri getirilecek. Sorunların devam etmesi halinde AB dışındaki belirli bir ülkenin tüm vatandaşlarına yönelik olarak bir buçuk yıl süreliğine tüm vize gereklilikleri yeniden uygulanmaya başlanacak. Bu süre içinde soruna çözüm bulunamadığı takdirde AB dışındaki bu ülke Şengen Bölgesi’ne üye ülkeler tarafından vize serbestisi uygulanan ülkelerin listesinden çıkarılabilir.
Avrupa Konseyi, 27 Şubat 2017 tarihli oturumunda Gürcistan vatandaşları için vize serbestisi uygulanması kararı aldı.
Böylece Gürcistan vatandaşları görev icabı veya turist olarak her bir 180 günde bir 90 gün süreliğine AB’ne vizesiz seyahat edebilecekler.

If the problem can not be resolved within this period, the country outside the EU can be removed from the list of countries where visa liberalization is applied by the member countries of the Schengen area.
The Council of Europe has decided to impose visa liberalization for Georgian citizens at its session on 27 February 2017.
Thus, citizens of Georgia will be able to travel without a visa to the EU for a period of 90 days every 180 days as a duty or tourist.
