Üniversite öğrenci sayısında Avrupa’nın ikincisiyiz

Yüksek Öğretim Kurulu, Türkiye'deki üniversitelerde 7 milyon 198 bin 987 öğrencinin eğitim aldığını açıkladı. YÖK’e göre veriler, Avrupa’da yükseköğretim alanında ikinci büyük ülke olduğumuzu gösteriyor. Türkiye Avrupa’nın yükseköğrenime kayıt yaptıran öğrenci sayısında ikinci ülke olarak, birinci sıradaki İngiltere’yi takip ediyor.
Interpress’in haberine göre yüksek öğrenimdeki öğrencilerden 6 milyon 629 bin 961'i devlet üniversitesi, 554 bin 218'inin vakıf üniversitesi ve 14 bin 808’i ise vakıf meslek yüksekokullarında öğrenim görüyor. Öğrencilerin cinsiyet dağılımındaki rakamlar ise 3 milyon 886 bin 107'si erkek, 3 milyon 312 bin 880'i kız olarak gösteriliyor. Dağılım verilerine göre üniversitelere 2016-2017 öğretim döneminde 1 milyon 434 bin 589 öğrenci kayıt yaptırdı. Bunlardan 1 milyon 266 bin 431'i devlet, 161 bin 406'sı vakıf ve 6 bin 752'si vakıf meslek yüksekokullarına kaydoldu. Grafikler, öğrenci sayısında artış çizgisi gösterirken, akademisyen sayısında ise azalma oldu. Türkiye'de geçen yıl 156 bin 168 olan akademisyen sayısının bu yıl 151 bin 763’e düştüğü bildirildi. Bu akademisyenlerden 22 bin 535'inin profesör, 14 bin 203'ünün doçent, 34 bin 652'sinin yardımcı doçent, 21 bin 423'ünün öğretim görevlisi, 9 bin 799'unun okutman, 3 bin 774'ünün uzman ve 45 bin 321'inin araştırma görevlisi olduğu ifade edildi.
Bu sayının çoğu işgücüne katılamıyor
İstatistikler öğrenim sayısında yüksek rakamlara tekabül etse de, bu kitlenin mezun olduğunda iş bulma oranı değişiyor. Teorik eğitim pratik eyleme dönüştüğünde rakamlar gerilemeye başlıyor. 2016 sonu itibariyle Türkiye’de işsizlik oranı yüzde 12,7. TÜİK verilerine göre özellikle 15-25 yaş arası genç işsizlik oranı yüzde 24. Genç istihdam oranın da yüzde 45 seviyelerinde seyrediyor. Oranlar rakama döküldüğünde ise şu tablo ortaya çıkıyor. 15-25 yaş arası genç işsiz sayısı 2017 başında 3 milyon 985 bin kişi.
